Dr. Chan Dr. Chan is the Principal starting from September 1, 2007. He received his doctorate from the University of Hong Kong in 1983, his field of study is Cosmic Radiation. Although trained as a Physicist, most of his working experience is on education and school management. In the past two decades of years, he has headed three secondary schools and a small community college, including Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College, which is a prestigious school in Hong Kong offering Advanced Level curriculum only to students completed Form 5 (Grade 11). Dr. Chan was the founding principal of the Sixth Form College. His vision in education, his innovating ideas and his leadership contributed directly to its success. Dr. Chan also has substantive experience in international education and has broad connections with overseas universities. This will be valuable for helping students for further study overseas. Dr. Chan is honoured to be part of Concordia International School, working with a team of dedicated staff and wonderful students.
 
Mr. Choudhury Mr. Choudhury received a Bachelor Degree from Mysore University in Civil Engineering and a Master Degree in Transport Engineering from Napier University in Edinburgh. He started his career as a research assistant in India's pioneer research institution famously known in the world as Indian Institute of Science. The project that he carried out was based on seismic studies, in key research area such as "Simulation of Seismic Studies of Earth Front Quay Walls". Amongst few others, the project was partially supported by Princeton University, U.S.A. Mr. Choudhury taught Mathematics and science in India for a few years before pursuing further education in U.K. in the year 2004. After completing his Master Degree in Engineering from Napier University, he worked in the U.K. as a transport engineer in international consultant companies. He was involved in the design of motorways and bridges in the North West of England. He was also involved in a few civil engineering projects in the Middle East, namely Dubai and Doha. Mr. Choudhury taught Mathematics, Science and English in Hong Kong before joining Concordia.

 

Mr. Du Mr. Du grew up and was educated in Canada. He graduated from the University of Manitoba with a B.A. majoring in Sociology and Asian History. He also has a law degree and he has received professional teacher training. He teaches Social Science, including History, and Sociology at Concordia. Mr. Du enjoys karate training and traveling when he is free.

 

Mr. Espinel Mr. Espinel is a professional photographer and graphic designer with a strong background as teacher of these disciplines. After graduating from the university he traveled to Los Angeles to work in a project on an aerial photography book about the Colombian coffee fields (The land of coffee), the book was published in the year 2006. Afterwards, Mr. Espinel started working as a teacher at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in the faculty of publicity, at the Politecnico Grancolombiano University in the faculty of audiovisual media and at the San Martin University in the faculty of publicity, teaching photographic art, advertising photography and advertising design. Before traveling to Hong Kong, Mr. Espinel participated in an exhibition of poster design in the Museum of Modern Art of Bogota. His work was selected to be published in the book of the show. In Hong Kong, Mr. Espinel continues teaching modern art at Concordia.

 

Mr. Feurdean Mr. Feurdean teaches Computer Science and Calculus. He is from Romania. He studied at the Technical University Cluj-Napoca and obtained a degree in Computer Sciences and Systems. He is also our Network Manager. His hobbies include fishing and mountain climbing.

 

Mr. Mohn Mr. Mohn teaches Theology, Philosophy, Cosmology, Old Testament, Church History and Ethics at the Chinese Christian Seminary. He was senior engineer at Harris Corp. in Florida (USA), worked on the Space Shuttle data computers, B1 Electronics and Minuteman ABCM Guidance Electronics. He likes gardening, studying insects and reading history and science fiction. He also likes writing computer programs (non-‘Windows’). He has a Hong Kong wife and two children and has been in Hong Kong for 20 years.

 

Mr. Neu Mr. Neu has a Bachelor of Arts in English, Philosophy and Speech. He also has a Master of Art in Social Science and a Master of Art in Teaching. He is originally from Chicago, where he taught in high schools. He has lived and worked in Hong Kong and Guangzhou for years, however, most recently as a Native English-speaking Teacher in a local school. Mr. Neu has designed and moderated a number of Google Blogspot sites (see http://welearnhere.blogspot.com) with feeds to and from various social networks. He enjoys ocean swimming and scuba diving, and follows the reports on the Gulf of Mexico oil spill and cleanup efforts with great interest.

 

Ms. Soman Ms. Soman has a Bachelor Degree in Science and a Master Degree in Humanities. She has a certificate in TESOL. She has worked with special needs students for 11 years and 5 years in secondary schools. Her interests are organizing workshops for children, social work, hiking and reading.

 

Mr. Sutton Mr. Sutton has been a long time resident of Hong Kong, having lived here for over ten years. He likes to think of himself as a well rounded and dedicated teacher. He has worked in numerous industries throughout Hong Kong and the rest of the world. While having completed his undergraduate studies in Australia, he is now pursuing a Masters in Science(MSc) at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong. Always striving to reach the next level, he is very much looking forward to this new school year and the challenges that it will bring.

 

Mr. Towner Mr. Towner graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. In order to become a quality teacher, he has completed in 2003 a one-year postgraduate certificate in Teaching English as Second Language. This was done also at the University of Toronto.
Before arriving in Hong Kong in 1999, Mr. Towner served with Department of National Defence for the Government of Canada in capacity of a civilian officer. Additionally, he was employed for many years as a part time professor at Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology in Toronto.
Mr. Towner's English teaching experience in Hong Kong has been in an International School and various other public and commercial learning centres.
Mr. Towner believes in keeping the mind and body fit - enjoying chess and physical fitness.

 

Ms. Zhu Ms. Zhu teaches Chinese studies and Putonghua at Concordia. She has studied and worked in Hong Kong Baptist University and got her M.Phil. in Chinese studies. Ms. Zhu is a native Putonghua speaker (PSC 1st level) and she received TCFL training from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Ms. Zhu is fond of learning languages and discovering culture diversities.
