What?
· Concordia’s Summer Program offers students the opportunity to improve their English skills through various courses. It also gives students the chance to strengthen their academic skills in Math .
When?
· The summer program will run from Wednesday July 2, 2008 to Thursday July 31, 2008.

‘Fun with English’
(for students 12-15 years old)
Students who join this program will have ‘Fun with English’ class from Monday to Friday. ‘Fun with English’ will build on speaking and listening skills through creative student-centered tasks. Students will participate in and develop role-plays, analyze songs and movie characters, and take part in web-based listening tasks. On Tuesdays and Thursdays (between 1-4pm), students will enjoy special outings such as trips to the beach, the cinema, the bowling alley, and Ocean Park. Students will be using English in context, as they participate in these fun activities. After these outings, students will be dismissed from a central location such as the MTR station by 4pm.
‘Introductory Statistics’
(for students 15-18 years old)
0.5 credit
Students who attend this course will have classes Monday – Friday. Students will explore some of the basic concepts in Statistics including: sampling, estimation, graphical representation, and probability. Students must have completed at least one grade ten mathematics course to enroll in this course. Computer applications and software packages will also be used throughout this credit course.
‘English for International Communication’
(for students 15-18 years old)
0.5 credit
Students who attend this course will have classes Monday – Friday. This credit course takes both an academic and practical approach to improving in English. This course is for students who are in grades 10-12. The teacher is a native English teacher. A problem-solving approach to grammar will be introduced. Everyday language and expressions will be used to help students build their confidence in using English. There will be an emphasis on current affairs. This course will also integrate speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. Students will work towards expanding their vocabularies. This course will benefit anyone who wishes to improve their English language skills.
‘Revision course on Math / Science / Social Studies ’
(for school's enrolled students only)
0.5 credit
This is an integrated revision course on Math, Science and Social Studies for school's enrolled students who have failed the term examination. The course will emphasize building up students' foundation in the subjects.

- The program costs are: i) $6000 (3hrs. per day) 2 courses
ii) $3000 (1.5hrs. per day) 1 course
Summer school will operate on a first-come first-served basis.
