The International History Bowl is a buzzer-based history quiz competition for teams of up to 6 students. The History Bee and Bowl are two history quiz competitions in English which are held around the world. The Bee is for individual students; the Bowl is for teams.Â
The History Bowl team at CISHK meets every Monday and participates in two Hong Kong competitions each year, one in the fall and the Hong Kong Championships in the spring.Â
The World Scholar’s Cup (occasionally abbreviated as WSC) is an international team academic program with students participating from over 40 countries. The World Scholar’s Cup has attracted what it calls “a global community of future scholars and leaders”, and promotes that it allows participants to “discover strengths and skills you never knew you had.” However, despite technically being a competition, The World Scholar’s Cup focuses far more on bringing students from different cultures together to discuss issues and ideas relevant to today and the future.
The WSC teams at Concordia meet every Thursday during lunch to discuss topics and have lively debates on the various topics related to the WCS material.
The Model United Nations Conference is an international event where committed students from high schools/1st year university coming together to work out contributive resolutions to imperative global problems as well as building genuine friendships. In this three-day conference, students will go through hours of intensive discussions and debates on controversial issues.
The MUN team at Concordia meets every Thursday after school to research on international issues and topics on the assigned countries. The team learns the various procedures of MUN debates and writing of positional and resolution papers.
Concordia has been participating in MUN events in Hong Kong since 2009. The MUN team also participated in the Southern China International Model United Nations (SCIMUN) that was organized by QSI in Shenzhen.
Each spring, CISHK holds a schoolwide Cultural Day where many students display some of the elements that makes their culture unique. Cultural Day has fashion and food from all over the globe, while also giving students an opportunity to exchange information and differences among the diverse cultural landscape within our school community.
